Psychoanalysis

Exploring the depths of your mind for lasting growth, understanding, and self-discovery.

Discover Deeper Change

Are you seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that hold you back? As a therapist with a deep commitment to both emotional insight and personal authenticity, I offer a compassionate, thoughtful approach to therapy that integrates a rich understanding of the unconscious mind and the ways our past shapes our present.

In our work together, I’ll help you explore your inner world—your feelings, desires, and the often-unspoken influences that drive your behavior. We’ll examine your early relationships, your sense of self, and the ways you navigate the world, offering a unique space to process and heal.

I offer a non-judgmental, open environment that values self-expression and authenticity. This means understanding the emotional and relational dynamics that have shaped who you are—particularly in terms of identity, family, and connection. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, or simply seeking a deeper sense of purpose, our work can help you uncover the underlying emotional truths that will lead to lasting change.

As someone who embraces diverse identities and experiences, I offer an inclusive and supportive space for anyone looking to explore their emotional life in a way that feels true to who they are.

The Therapeutic Relationship

The relationship we develop is the foundation of our work together. It’s essential that we take the time to explore how we connect and whether this dynamic will support the kind of work you’re hoping to do. During our initial sessions, we’ll get a sense of how we collaborate, and together we’ll decide whether now is the right time for deeper analysis—and if I’m the right person to guide you through that process.

If we continue, we’ll meet three to five times per week, with each session lasting fifty minutes. You’re welcome to lie on the couch during our meetings—this can help create a space where your thoughts can flow freely and without interruption.

In our early sessions, we will also discuss fees. This conversation serves two purposes: to ensure that we find a fee that works for both of us and because discussing financial matters often provides valuable insight into the therapeutic process itself.

Why Psychoanalysis?

  • It's About Depth: Many therapies focus on the surface—on immediate coping strategies or quick solutions. Psychoanalysis takes a deeper approach, exploring the underlying emotional currents that drive your thoughts and actions, so you can understand your past, present, and future with more clarity.

  • A Journey of Self-Discovery: This process isn’t about fitting into a particular box or following a prescribed set of behaviors—it’s about discovering what works for you on your terms. It’s a chance to explore your emotional life at your own pace, with curiosity and without pressure.

  • Building Flexibility and Insight: As you explore your emotional world, you may find that your patterns of thinking and relating to others become more flexible. This means you can engage with the world around you in ways that feel more authentic and true to who you are.

  • Long-Term Growth: The benefits of psychoanalysis often go beyond short-term symptom relief. It’s a space for long-term growth, helping you better understand and navigate your emotions, relationships, and life choices in a way that feels more integrated and grounded.

A Space for Depth, Thought, and Emotional Engagement

I work best with individuals who are intellectually curious and emotionally engaged, ready to embark on a journey of deeper self-understanding. This process thrives when you are open to exploring complex emotional terrain and willing to challenge old patterns in the pursuit of growth.

For some, the nature of this work may not be the best fit. If your approach to emotional challenges is primarily focused on surface-level solutions or you’re not inclined to explore the deeper layers of your experiences, the pace and depth of psychoanalytic work might feel less aligned with your current needs.

This approach may also feel unfamiliar or challenging if you're seeking more structured, short-term methods or if you’re not yet ready to engage in the kind of long-term, open-ended exploration that psychoanalysis offers.

Is This Right for You?

If you’re someone who enjoys thinking deeply about who you are and how you move through the world, psychoanalytic psychotherapy can be an invaluable tool. Whether you’re struggling with a particular issue or just want to understand yourself more fully, this space can offer new perspectives and pathways for growth.
